Extract the zip if needed, run the .exe, log in.
Check errors
If it will not open, install the C++ Redistributable and retry.
Detailed install guide
- Click Download Pro. Your browser starts downloading
from Hugging Face. - Wait for the download to finish. It is a large file, so keep the tab open on a stable connection.
- If it is a
.zip, right-click → Extract All and open the new folder. Do not run it inside the zip. - Double-click the
.exe. If SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway. - Close heavy apps so Pro gets the memory it needs, open Coding Guava and log in.
- Check for errors. If the app does not open or closes at once, follow the error fix below and test again.
- Click Download Lite. On the GitHub page open Assets and click the
.exefile (or the.zipif that is what is listed). - Wait for the download to finish. If it stops, press Resume in your browser or retry from the Releases page.
- If it is a
.zip, right-click → Extract All and open the new folder. - Double-click the
.exe. If SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway. - Close Chrome tabs and other apps before starting, and open one project at a time.
- Check for errors. If the app does not open or shows a missing DLL message, follow the error fix below and test again.
Error when opening? Install the Windows C++ Redistributable
Messages like VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found, MSVCP140.dll is missing, 0xc000007b, or the app closing right after launch usually mean the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is missing. This applies to both Pro and Lite.
- Download VC++ Redistributable (x64) below and run it. Choose Repair if it is already installed.
- Restart your computer.
- Open Coding Guava again and check for errors. If it starts, you are done.
- Still failing? Press
Win+R, typecmd, drag the app .exe into the window, press Enter, and send us the message it prints.
Questions
Which build should I choose?
16 GB RAM or more: Pro. 8 GB or less: Lite. If Pro feels slow, switch to Lite.
Can I use it with 4 GB RAM?
It starts, but both Pro and Lite are very slow on 4 GB. For a smooth experience use 8 GB or more (Lite) or 16 GB or more (Pro).
Antivirus or SmartScreen blocked the file
Use More info → Run anyway. If your antivirus quarantined it, restore the file and add the Coding Guava folder to exclusions.
The download keeps failing
The builds are large. Use a stable connection, keep 6 GB free, and retry. Browsers can resume downloads.
Is my Windows supported?
You need 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Check Settings → System → About → System type.
